SAFE Summerside wants to demonstrate our community's passion for safe and accessible active transportation for everyone! To show your support, we invite you to join us for our first-ever Summerside Walks / Rides in Support of Active Transportation Event!

To join us, please meet us at Holman's Ice Cream Parlour (Summerside) on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 @ 10 A.M.

The event will start with words from our founder, Ken Trenholm, and other members of our community who are passionate about Active Transportation.

Please bring your favorite means of active transportation (bikes, scooters, wheelchairs, recumbents, in-line skates, etc.).

We will be taking a leisurely ride around the city.

We will also have a separate walking route for those who would rather use their own two feet!

This event is family-friendly, traveling on the boardwalk, Greenwood Drive bike lane, and the Confederation Trial (with minimal on-road riding).  The walking route will be on the Boardwalk.

Both routes leave Holman's Ice Cream Parlour.

We will finish our walk/ride at the Summerside City Hall (next door to Holman's) and present our draft plan for active transportation to those in attendance.

As the plan is draft, come ready with your own insights to share.

We hope to see you there!

You can register for the event by visiting our Facebook Page or drop us a line at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and let you know you are coming!

Please note an open-house style of discussion on the draft plan will also occur on Oct 29 (Location TBD) after the community has had a chance to review the plan, and best prepare suggestions / questions.  SAFE Summerside continues to accept suggestions or ideas on how to make the streets safe and accessible for the active transportation community.

The Plan will be presented to the City of Summerside in November.
